AI is everywhere. Every forum. Every platform. Every channel. I get it, there’s a magical algorithm keeping AI messages top of mind. But I’m pretty sure we are all finding ourselves caught up in the energy. And this will be creating uncertainty.
Recently, I was fortunate to sit with a group of technologists, entrepreneurs, and business leaders to share what we are all doing with AI, not just what we are hearing or seeing. It was a fascinating, free-wheeling discussion.
Some key actionable takeaways – specifically for smaller and medium enterprises – I took away from the discussion:
- Literacy First. AI training and education are foundational – organizations with training programs see dramatically higher adoption rates. And an engaged and informed workforce seeks out problems that AI can generate a return.
- KISS – keep it small and simple. Don't force AI to replace an entire business function or department; start with well-defined workflows and SOPs (standard operating procedures) and selectively add AI capabilities within those.
If you’re feeling the pressure to “do something with AI” but don’t want to destabilize your business in the process, let's talk. There’s a disciplined way to do this.
